A Mad Scientist Disguised as a Journalist

Valerie “burgundy bug” is an experienced researcher, writer, and graphic designer with a passion for healthcare. Her work embodies a range of topics, from neuroscience and psychology to ecology and psychedelic research.

Valerie has sold articles to over 300 outlets in the last five years and has worked for clients ranging from cannabis companies and surgical clinics to musicians and politicians.

Organization, brand voice, and research are at the heart of Valerie’s work. She’s ethical, dedicated, empathetic, and will bend over backwards to help your business flourish. She is more than just another SEO-writer. Valerie is your support beam, your loyal confidant.

Furthermore, she’s equipped with the tools for success. Valerie knows the ins-and-outs of WordPress, SEO, HootSuite, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, MailChimp, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office, to name a few.

Formally, Valerie served as the editor and founder of The Burgundy Zine, a blog that released a digital magazine centered around a different theme each issue.

In addition to her work as an editor, she is a cannabis research consultant and college student. Valerie graduated with two associates degrees in Journalism and Liberal Arts in 2019. She began her bachelor’s in Health Sciences in 2020 and intends on pursuing a Ph.D. in Neuroscience (specifically, neuropharmacology) afterward.

Prior to becoming a cannabis research consultant, freelance writer, publicist, and artist, Valerie worked as a photographer doing photoshoots for luxury retailers like Philipp Plein and MCM at the King of Prussia mall.

In her free time, Valerie enjoys reading research journals, gardening, hiking, journaling, and doodling. She can also put together a pretty mean scrapbook. Just sayin’.
